JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the Fiscal Supervisor, Deputy Director, and Director, the IT/Phone Support Technician ensures the function of agency technology and the phone system including State and County equipment. Sets up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices. Installs and configures appropriate software and functions according to specifications. Provides orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment. Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of an Associate’s Degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, information science, education or related field preferred; OR completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED) plus proven experience in successful IT support; OR completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED) plus work experience which meets the minimum essential functions of the position; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills and excellent communication ability.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the County's vehicle insurance policy.

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); has contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons; has exposure to hazardous driving conditions; has exposure to bed bugs, lice, scabies and other insects; works in proximity to the use of firearms; works in or around crowds; has exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions; ascends and/or descends ladders, stairs, or scaffolds.
Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
(1) Sets up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices, checks computer hardware to ensure functionality, installs and configures appropriate software, ensures security and privacy of networks and computer systems, organizes and schedules upgrades and maintenance with minimal interference to others completing work and performs troubleshooting to diagnosis and resolve problems.
(2) Acts as the Agency’s Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) and Local Security Coordinator (LSC), which includes the following responsibilities: implements the Technology and Service Support Policy (TSSP), maintains records and logs of assigned state and county equipment, performs annual inventory of hardware, identifies computer or network equipment shortages and places orders, creates, modifies or deactivates accounts for end users (including submission of related paperwork), and acts as point of contact for the Agency’s annual security awareness training requirement from the State.
(3) Provides orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment. Organizes and assists with system updates for all users. Maintains positive relationships with state and county IT staff, attends relevant state and county trainings and meetings. Attends agency and unit meetings.
(4) Acts as point of contact for agency phone system. Troubleshoots issues with provider, ensures phones switch to appropriate voice notice per schedule.
(5) Attends meetings and serves on committees, as directed; attends training and seminars, as directed.
(6) Maintains required licensure or certification, if any.
(7) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
(8) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
