Eligibility Referral Specialist 2

Job Description:

Primary duties of this position are Case Management/Customer Service. The person in this position will interview clients to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for public assistance, i.e. OWF, Food Assistance, Medicaid, and PRC; gather verifications and determine applicable regulations and explain same to client; maintain files and will be responsible for case records and materials for an assigned caseload. This employee shall represent the agency in county conferences, state hearings and/or court hearings.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of experience in behavioral science, social science, or customer service techniques, six months experience in business mathematics, business English, interviewing techniques and six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing, or education, training and/or experience in an equal amount.
Must have the ability to effectively interview clients to establish facts, gather necessary date and draw valid conclusions to establish program eligibility;
Adapt to continual changes in agency programming, state and federal regulations; and
Clerical skills of filing, letter writing and doing clear and concise case dictation.

Pay Rate:

Starting base pay $17.06 per hour (Pay Range 2, Step 1).
